Sunshine Coast Business Awards 2009

The Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards were celebrated at a Gala Presentation Evening ‘with a difference’ for more than 600 guests on Saturday 24 October at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
More than 120 finalists vied for 13 business and individual Awards with Success Foods Pty Ltd, known for their achievements with their Dr Tim’s Success consumer weight loss program, and Medicine on Second,  one of the Sunshine Coast’s truly modern medical centres, taking out top honours as Small Business of the Year and Enterprise of the Year respectively.
In the individual category of Outstanding Business Person of the Year, Nicola Jardine practice manager for Medicine on Second and one of the company directors of Recruitrain, a training and recruitment company focused on the medical industry, was recognised for her efforts in playing an integral part in the Sunshine Coast winning a $600,000 Medicare Australia ‘After Hours Grant’.
Response to this year’s Awards was again overwhelming with over 400 nominees and the judges were impressed with the quality and diversity of all entrants.
Guests enjoyed a very different evening with an academy awards style presentation for the awards ceremony and a replica Studio 54 Nightclub for eating, celebrating and dancing to the hits of the 70’s and 80’s.  The evening was hosted by Peter Rowsthorn who plays Kim’s husband in Seven’s Kath and Kim and was joined on stage by one of our favourite local media icons, Sami Muirhead from the Hot 91’s breakfast trio.
Guests were also eligible for an amazing Lucky Door Prize of two return tickets to Fiji flying Air Pacific.
